Nick Chacona has finally released his debut album ‘Love In the Middle’ on Moodmusic. He reportedly first started the album nearly 18 months ago and, owing to his decade's experience in the industry, has a lot to draw inspiration from.

One of the most noticeable things about his debut LP is the variety of sounds heard across the 70 minutes. Drawing from a variety of styles ranging from disco to deep house to reggae-esque dubstep, this is an album which drew no expectations, but delivers on many fronts.

The opening tracks include the warmly welcomed euphoric house styles of ‘Jambong Express’, and the 70s, synth heavy ‘Autumn Pass’. Fellow countryman Tony Rodriguez aka Brothers Vibe makes an appearance on ‘Wait’ which, out of all the tracks on the album, most deviates from a standard house style. The slow, bass heavy track suggests Nick has a fondness for the reggae sound, but then things switch up again and organic, warm sounds start to become more prevalent when things get a bit deeper and darker, especially on thumping house track ‘Eskalaytor’.

Ths is an album which will no doubt cater to many peoples' tastes as it takes in a wide remit of sound without focusing too closely on any one niche. Nearly 18 months in the making, Chacona will no doubt find success with this album, even if it's not really an album for the dancefloor but, instead, is one which is more suited to chilled out, reflective home listening.
